It presents a vivid picture of spiritual and political life in an important phase of the history of South-East Asia.
Our understanding of the authenticity of the My Son Sanctuary is underpinned by the work of Henry Parmentier in the early 20th century.
Historically, investigation by archaeologists, historians, and other scholars in the 19th and early 20th century has recorded the significance of the site through its monuments, which are masterpieces of brick construction of the period, both in terms of the technology of their construction and because of their intricate carved-brick decorations.
The location and the sacred nature of the site ensured that the monuments have remained intact within their original natural setting, although many have suffered some damage over the years.
Conservation interventions under French and Polish expert guidance have been relatively minor and do not affect the overall level of authenticity of the site. The authenticity of My Son in terms of design, materials, workmanship, and setting continues to support it Outstanding Universal Value.

My son tour.
We had Hai take us to do My Son and Marble Mountain tour today and he was fantastic. Hai was extremely knowledgeable and explained all the history of the sites well. Our breakfast and lunch was amazing and we had a lot of fun in the basket boats and making lanterns. I can not recommend these guys enough, they even organised our airport transfers which were waiting for us in a nice car with the air con going. We will be back to see Hai again in the new year, we have made a new friend.more
We used these guys for two tours, the walking food tour and the tour to My Son, the marble mountains ++. These were great. The walking food tour was excellent. Our guide Ha had excellent University educates English. He was a local and it showed. We walked the back streets and had great food that we would never have found otherwise. The stories and the background were also very interesting. Don’t eat at all.that day and start slow. Something like 12 courses overall. Not cheap but worth it. The trip toy Son started early (as in 0500). That is due to the immense heat at My Son during the day. We arrived at 0600 and it was pleasent. Also pretty empty. Our guide that day was Hai, another local with excellent English. We also visited the marble mountains, had a local breakfast, rose in the circle boats, lunch and made lanterns. Finished around 1500. Happy to recommend them to my friends who visited (which is how we found out about them).more
